On October 15, 2024, fire department members came to SHS to help with simple machines demonstrations and hands-on learning experiences for Mrs. Rogers’s Physical World Concepts Class and Dalton Crabtree's Physical Science Class. Students were given firsthand experience on how levers and pulley systems, previously demonstrated in class, are used in everyday and rescue situations.
Firefighters participating in the event (with more than 100 years of experience cumulatively) were:
