
Scott High Shuts Out Monterey to Go 2-0
The Scott High School Highlanders continued their strong start to the 2025 football season with a commanding 34-0 victory over Monterey High School on Friday night. The dominant performance on both sides of the ball lifts the Highlanders to 2-0 in the season.
The win was a full team effort, with standouts across the field earning well-deserved recognition.
Player of the Game – Gage Privett
Presented by First National Bank, Gage Privett was named Player of the Game after a standout performance that helped lead the Highlanders to their shutout win.
Lineman of the Game – Caleb Bell
In the trenches, Caleb Bell earned Lineman of the Game honors, presented by Trophy Masters. Bell’s physical presence and consistency on the line gave Scott the edge up front all game long, opening running lanes and shutting down Monterey’s attempts to gain momentum.
Scholar-Athlete – Jaigen Morgan
Balancing excellence on the field and in the classroom, Jaigen Morgan was honored as the Scholar-Athlete, presented by One Bank of Tennessee. Morgan continues to be a role model for student-athletes, proving that hard work and discipline pay off on and off the field.
The Highlanders’ offense was relentless, and the defense pitched a complete shutout, keeping Monterey out of the end zone and off the scoreboard.
With this victory, Scott High builds on their early-season momentum and looks ahead to next week with determination as they face Austin-East.
