At Scott High School, we believe in celebrating the achievements of our students both inside and outside the classroom. Throughout the year, this page will shine a light on the incredible accomplishments, awards, and milestones reached by our Highlanders. From academic honors and athletic victories to leadership, community service, and creative talents, we are proud to share their stories of hard work and success.

Scholar Athlete September 19th

Keelee Goodman

Keelee Goodman has been recognized as this week’s Student Scholar Athlete. She shines both academically and athletically, serving as a member of Beta Club and competing in cross country. Beyond her studies and sports, Keelee is also an active part of the Big Red Store, Scott High’s school-based enterprise, where she builds valuable leadership and teamwork skills.

Outstanding Color Guard Performance September 20th

Emmaleigh Wood

Emmaleigh Wood received 1st Place at the Clinch River Class for her outstanding performance as an SHS Color Guard. Emmaleigh has been a dedicated member of the color guard for three years, showcasing her school spirit and leadership through performance. Beyond the field, she excels academically and is actively involved in several organizations, including Beta Club, HOSA, and the National Society for High School Scholars (NSHSS). Her commitment to both the arts and academics highlights her as a well-rounded and driven student.

Scholar Athlete September 12th

Hailey Butler

Hailey has been an active 4-H member for the past nine years where she has grown tremendously. She currently serves on the Tennessee 4-H State Council as the State All-Star Chief. As Chief, she presides over 4-H events, lead ceremonies, organize serving projects to benefit Tennesseans from across the state, advocate for 4-H, and serve as an ambassador for the largest youth organization in the country. She has had the opportunity to speak to thousands of people including donors, government officials, and even on national television.

Hailey is an active member of SWAT. Students With A Testimony is a club that has been very important to Hailey throughout the past 8 years. S.W.A.T. is a student led club that allows students to grow in the faith as they keep their focus on the Lord. Hailey is a SWAT leader and encourages students to attend the worship lunches that are held every Friday as well as leading Prayer at the Pole every Wednesday morning before school!

Hailey has played Soccer for the past 7 years. She is a 4 year member of the SHS Soccer team. As a team captain, she has learned how to step into a leadership role while helping her teammates on and off the field. Additionally, she has been recognized as a Scholar Athlete for demonstrating an outstanding performance in athletics and academics where she has maintained 4.0 GPA.

Desmond Bowling Student Scholar

 Desmond Bowling has been a dedicated four-year member of the Highlander football team and an active leader in the Pep Club. He also competed for two years on the wrestling team, showcasing his versatility and commitment to Highlander athletics.

In addition to his success on the field, Bowling excels academically, carrying an outstanding 4.0+ GPA. His hard work, leadership, and determination exemplify the qualities of a true scholar-athlete.
