Every year, the SHS academic team competes in academic competitions across the state. In the fall, we attend the East Tennessee PBS Scholar's Bowl competition. It's the biggest competition in our area, usually including 50-60 teams, and SHS typically performs very well. We have finished in the top eight several times, and the final four once.
In the spring, we travel to Cookeville for the PBS Academic Bowl. In 2020, we finished in second place, and we have two top-four finishes. We are also proud that we won the Fred C. Culp Spirit of Competition Award twice. We have also hosted tournaments for area schools and competed on campus at Lincoln Memorial University.
